Nanoscience and nanotechnology study phenomena and manipulation of material at the atomic, molecular and macromolecular scales, at which properties differ considerably from those observed at higher scales. The UAB Bachelor's Degree in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology offers studies of an interdisciplinary nature: it combines content from physics, chemistry, biology and mathematics and it focuses on areas of application, like technology, materials, biotechnology, medicine, energy and the environment. Because of its applications, this discipline constitutes one of the most important driving forces behind new industries and the knowledge society.
