Program Overview

Theology as a subject in the Phil. Hist. Faculty consists of six sub-subjects: Old Testament (+ Hebrew), New Testament (+ Greek), History of Church and Theology, Systematic Theology (Dogmatics and Ethics), Practical Theology, Non-European Christianity. In order to understand Christianity in its historical existence and to judge its position in the modern age, a fourfold oriented theological training is required. It includes the acquisition of philological, historical, hermeneutic-critical and empirical competencies. In this way, inner perspectives of the Christian faith and external religio-scientific perspectives are combined.
