Studying Theology as a major at the Bachelor s level fosters a scholarly and discerning reflection of Christianity in its biblical roots as well as its historical and current manifestations in culture, society and the church. In doing so, the degree program introduces the basic disciplines in the field of Theology: interpreting biblical texts, studying the history of Christianity, discussing dogmatic correlations, ethical implications and church practices from a contemporary point of view.

The study of theology serves the academic, differentiated presentation of and reflection on biblical and the Jewish-Christian tradition. The theology course does justice to this complex task thanks to the variety of methods and contents taught: The exegetical subjects deal with Old and New Testament texts.
