Program Overview

The mission is to achieve excellence in teaching, research, and service to the country, and to provide the best programs in undergraduate and graduate education. The Departments offers students the opportunity to explore the various fields of current biology. These include molecular and cellular biology, genetics and genomics, evolution, and ecology. Students are exposed to modern concepts, and current methods of experimentation in molecular biology, biochemistry, proteomics, genomics, and bioinformatics. Outstanding and highly motivated students are offered opportunities for research projects in faculty laboratories, summer laboratory research, and internships. The faculty advisors are also available to provide guidance in career development.
