Study of foundation to literature, literary criticism theories, literature of various ages and translation, with an emphasis on enabling students to apply the knowledge to the analysis and criticism of various types of writings; developing students' English language expertise, particularly in reading and writing and a deep understanding of western concepts and culture through western literature written in or translated to English.
