The Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine at United Arab Emirates University prepares you to become a skilled and confident veterinarian with strong scientific knowledge and real clinical ability. Curriculum Structure

Years 1 & 2 – Foundations of Veterinary Science
In the first two years, you develop a strong base in science and animal biology. You study subjects such as Basic Biology, General Chemistry, and Animal Anatomy, which help you understand how animal bodies are structured and how they function. You also take Introduction to Veterinary Medicine, where you learn about the veterinary profession, ethics, and the many career paths available in animal care.

Years 3 & 4 – Core Veterinary Knowledge
During the middle years of the program, your focus shifts to animal health and disease. Courses such as Animal Physiology, Veterinary Immunology, Veterinary Parasitology, and General Veterinary Pathology teach you how illnesses develop and how animals respond to infection and treatment. You also study Animal Nutrition and Health and Veterinary Pharmacology, building the knowledge needed to keep animals healthy and manage disease effectively.

Year 5 – Clinical Practice and Professional Training
In the final year, you move into hands-on clinical training. You complete Clinical Practice rotations in areas such as Small Animal Practice, Camel Practice, and Veterinary Public Health, where you work with real animals under professional supervision. You also complete a Senior Research Project, allowing you to explore a specific veterinary topic in depth and apply what you have learned in a practical, research-based way.
