Experiential Learning (Research, Projects, Internships etc.)

At Amity University Dubai, interior design is learned by doing. From your first year onward, you spend significant time in studios where ideas are developed, tested, refined, and presented—mirroring how professional designers actually work in practice.

This hands-on learning experience is delivered through:

  • Studio-based design every year: Interior Design Studios form the core of the programme, where you work on residential, commercial, and conceptual projects that strengthen spatial planning and creative thinking.

  • Material & construction exploration: Courses in materials and construction help you understand how interiors are built, detailed, and specified in real projects.

  • Drawing & visual communication: Strong emphasis on technical drawing, freehand sketching, colour studies, and visual presentation builds confidence in communicating ideas clearly.

  • Furniture, lighting & detailing: Specialist modules allow you to design interior elements in depth, linking aesthetics with comfort, usability, and technical accuracy.

  • Critiques and design reviews: Regular studio critiques develop your ability to justify design decisions and respond constructively to professional feedback.

  • Capstone project: In the final year, you lead a major interior design project from concept through final presentation, bringing together everything you’ve learned.

  • Portfolio development: Continuous project work ensures you graduate with a comprehensive, industry-ready portfolio.

By graduation, you’ve experienced the full interior design process—from early concepts to detailed design and presentation.
