This course prepares you to shape the built environment through innovative, socially responsible, and technically sound design.

Curriculum Structure

Year 1: Foundations of Architectural Design

In your first year, you'll establish a strong foundation in architectural principles. Modules such as 'Environmental Architecture Design Project 1: People, Space and Place' introduce you to spatial design, user-centered approaches, and the integration of natural light and materials. You'll develop skills in sketching, modeling, and digital representation, setting the stage for more complex design challenges.

Year 2: Developing Design Skills and Knowledge

The second year builds upon your foundational knowledge, focusing on more complex design projects. Modules like 'Environmental Architecture Design Project 2: Context and Culture' encourage you to consider the cultural, historical, and environmental context of your designs. You'll engage in site analysis, material selection, and sustainable design practices, preparing you for professional architectural practice.

Year 3: Advanced Architectural Practice

In the third year, you'll tackle advanced design projects that require a comprehensive understanding of architectural concepts. Modules such as 'Environmental Architecture Design Project 3: Urban Intervention' involve designing within urban contexts, addressing issues like density, infrastructure, and community needs. You'll refine your technical skills and deepen your understanding of architectural theory and practice.

Year 4: Professional Practice and Final Design Project

The final year emphasizes professional practice and culminates in a significant design project. Modules like 'Professional Practice' prepare you for the responsibilities of an architect, including project management, client relations, and legal considerations. Your final design project allows you to showcase your abilities in a comprehensive architectural proposal, integrating all aspects of your learning.
