Program Overview

Our Bachelor of Arts program in Music Production aims to equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in the constantly evolving music industry, which contributed £1.26 billion to the economy in 2021. The program is designed to prepare students for various career paths, including video game industry, live music, and music education, as well as to become self-producing artists with transferable skills in the digital domain, studio environment, and academic realm.

The first year of the program covers fundamental principles in areas such as sequencing in the DAW, audio and MIDI, acoustics and psychoacoustics, studio engineering, hardware implementation, synthesis, critical listening skills, and reasoning, writing, and debating. In the second and third year, students can choose to specialize in music production, composition, live sound, sound for media and gaming industry, sound design, or music education.

The program's modules are developed by staff who actively research, compose, perform, and publish in their specialist areas within the music industry. Students will learn music principles and techniques that will help them develop analytical and creative skills necessary for evaluating and implementing real-life practices.
