The University of Northampton is a public university located in Northampton, Northamptonshire, England. Though it was established in 2005, the history of its constituent colleges dates back to 1924. The university operates on two sites: Park Campus at Kingsthorpe and the Avenue Campus. It is officially accredited and recognized by the Privy Council.

The university comprises of different faculties: Faculty of Health & Society; Faculty of Education & Humanities; Faculty of Business & Law and Faculty of Arts, Science & Technology. The university offers a wide range of undergraduate degrees, foundation degrees, diplomas and a variety of postgraduate opportunities up to PhD level. It is one of the few universities in the UK to offer two-year fast-track degrees (for marketing, law and management) and it also offers four-year extended degrees with a year in industry.

More than 12,900 students study at the University of Northampton at various degree levels, about 10% of which are international students. The student to faculty ratio at the university is 18:1. The university has a network of academic partnership with various educational institutions across Africa, Asia, North America, South America, Australia and Europe.

This degree pathway offers similar vocational training to the BA (Hons) Acting programme, but gives you the opportunity to specialise in the area of Creative Acting. Creative actors are able to use their skills to proactively offer ideas and create material during the rehearsal process. They are able to work with directors who need strong ensemble members in their company to help create imaginative and innovative performances. You will also be able to take part in a comprehensive extracurricular programme of theatre trips, which typically include the most innovative contemporary companies currently touring e.g. Adinfinitum, Frantic Assembly, Punchdrunk.

Are you committed to a life as a working actor on stage or screen This highly practical training programme is designed to develop the high-level skills and knowledge required to enter the profession as a working actor. The programme serves as vocational preparation, committed to conservatoire-style training with highly experienced industry professionals. The training regime is in excess of 30 hours per week for three terms, demanding dedicated commitment. You will take part in performances and productions, work with visiting professional directors and actors, and form your own theatre companies.
