Program Overview

This three-year undergraduate program offers a comprehensive education in accounting and management. It prepares students for a range of careers in accounting, finance, and general management.

This program is designed to develop specialized knowledge and skills for a career in the accounting and management sectors.

Course Structure

  • Year 1: Introduction to core management subjects such as business economics, business analytics, and the fundamentals of accounting. These provide a strong foundation for more advanced topics.

  • Year 2: Development of intermediate accounting skills and knowledge, including company law and advanced financial management. Students also have opportunities to choose from a variety of optional units.

  • Year 3: Focus on more specialized topics in accounting, including an individual project. Students apply their knowledge to practical or academic research, and can also choose additional optional units in various business areas.

Experiential Learning (Research, Projects, Internships etc.)

  • Professional Development Programme (PDP): All students are included in the PDP, which offers training and workshops in CV writing, interview preparation, and aptitude tests. The PDP also helps students secure relevant placements and gain valuable industry experience.

  • Work Placement Option: A four-year version of the course includes a 12-month work placement in the third year. This placement allows students to apply their academic knowledge in real-world business environments.

  • Final Year Project: Individual Project in accounting and management

  • Graduate Outcomes: 90% of graduates from the BSc Accounting and Finance program were employed or in further study 15 months after graduation, with an average salary of £30,500.
