BA Hons International Business

3 Years On Campus Bachelors Program

University of Greenwich

Program Overview

The BSc (Hons) International Business degree equips students with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in a global business environment. It covers the theory and practice of international business, focusing on business management, international strategies, socio-economic impacts, business ethics, and emerging markets.

  • By studying abroad in nations like France or Spain or by participating in an optional placement year with foreign organizations, students can use the Turing Scheme to broaden their view on the world.  Few of the graduates have held positions at Warner Music Group, IBM, or Microsoft.

Graduates are well-prepared for roles in banking, finance, IT, logistics, and international trade. Alumni have secured positions at companies including JP Morgan, PwC, HP, and Ericsson.

The programme combines lectures, seminars, workshops, and independent study. Students typically engage in 20–30 hours of self-directed learning per week and benefit from additional support sessions, guest lectures, and employability workshops. Class sizes range from 15 to 240, depending on the module format.

  • The University of Greenwich received Gold in the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) 2023, recognising outstanding student experience and outcomes.
  • The programme is delivered at the university’s historic Greenwich campus, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in London.

Assessments are a mix of coursework, exams, and presentations, with feedback provided within 15 working days. The course fosters critical thinking and practical insight, preparing graduates to thrive in diverse, international business settings.

Experiential Learning (Research, Projects, Internships etc.)

Year 3: Optional Sandwich Placement

  • Students have the opportunity to undertake a Business Placement worth 30 credits, extending the course duration to four years.
  • These sandwich placements consist of 9–12 months of full-time, paid work experience within the business sector, facilitated through the Business School's support.

Final Year: Consultancy Project

  • The Consultancy Project is an independent study module that allows students to apply the knowledge and analytical skills developed throughout their degree.
  • By addressing a real-world business or policy issue aligned with their academic interests and career goals, students bridge the gap between theory and practice.

The University of Greenwich’s Employability Team may also promote internship opportunities ranging from 5 days to 6 months, offered on a part-time or full-time basis. These placements provide additional avenues for students to gain practical experience.

Students may further broaden their international outlook through the Turing Scheme, which supports study abroad opportunities in countries such as France and Spain.
