Curriculum Structure
Year 1
Your first year provides a broad foundation in finance, accounting, and management. You’ll study Introduction to Accounting I & II, Quantitative Methods and Finance, and Introduction to Finance, alongside Introduction to Management, Professional and Academic Development (Finance), and Introduction to Economics. These modules ensure you develop essential skills in financial reporting, quantitative analysis, and management theory, while beginning to explore career planning and employability.
Year 2
In your second year, you move into applied finance and advanced analysis. Modules such as Corporate Finance, Portfolio Analysis, and Financial Modelling (using EViews software) sharpen your ability to evaluate investments, manage risk, and apply econometric tools. You’ll also take Financial Reporting and Analysis I & II, developing expertise in interpreting financial statements and applying international accounting standards.
Placement Year
In your third year, you’ll undertake a work-based placement with an external organisation, gaining up to 12 months of professional experience. Final Year
Your final year focuses on advanced financial instruments and independent research. You’ll study International Financial Markets and Monetary Policy, Alternative Investments, Empirical Finance, and Options and Futures, alongside optional modules to tailor your expertise.
