Program Overview

This degree offers a combination of general business education (finance, marketing, strategy) with a focus on managing people — recruitment, performance, diversity, leadership, etc. It’s suited for students who want both broad business skills and specialise in human resources, with options for workplace experience through placements.


Curriculum Structure

Year One
You’ll begin by building foundational business understanding with modules such as Introduction to Management, Understanding Business and Financial Information, Understanding Organisations and People, Principles of Marketing, Entrepreneurial Decision Making, HRM and Leadership in Context, Business Decision Making for Management. These give you insight into how businesses function, basics of leadership and HR theory, marketing, and financial literacy.

Year Two
You move deeper into HR-focused and analytical areas. Modules include Managing People, Contemporary Employment Relations, Equality Law and Diversity Management, HR Information Systems, Workforce Resource Planning, Management Skills, and Research Methods for Business. You learn to handle diversity, employment law, using HR technology, planning workforce needs, and gaining research/data skills to support decision-making.

Placement / Sandwich Year (Optional)
After Year Two (if you choose the four-year sandwich option) you can take a paid placement year in the UK or abroad. This gives you real-world HR or business experience, helps build your network, and boosts your CV.

Final Year
In the third (or fourth, if you did placement) year you tackle more strategic and global HR issues. Core modules are Strategy and Human Resource Management, Human Resource Development and Knowledge Management, Managing Organisational Performance, International Human Resource Management. Plus, you’ll pick from optional modules like Work Integrated Learning, Cross Cultural Learning and Development, Coaching and Mentoring in Organisations, Project Management with Data Analytics, and Transformation of Work. There’s also a major project (Applied Business or Business Project) that ties together your learning.

Also skills in communication, critical thinking, project management, research/data use, and professionalism.


Professional Alignment (Accreditation)

It is CIPD-accredited. That means when you finish, you’ll also earn an Intermediate Diploma in Human Resource Management from CIPD, which is highly respected in HR.

    As part of the degree, you receive recognition from the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development. Completing the course earns you an Intermediate Diploma in Human Resource Management, which is well-valued by employers.

    From day one, you’ll work with a Group Mentor and Personal Tutor, building a “portfolio of practice” that shows your applied skills — not just grades.
