BSc Human Resource Management

3 Years On Campus Bachelors Program

University of West London

Program Overview

The BSc (Hons) Human Resource Management at the University of West London (UWL) is designed to develop strong people‑management and leadership capabilities rooted in real business environments. It’s ideal for students who want to build an HR career, combining theory with practical problem-solving skills.

Curriculum Structure

Year 1 (Level 4)
In the first year, students explore the fundamentals of business and HR: core business functions, basic HR concepts, information management, and how organisations operate. This foundational stage helps students understand the context in which HR professionals work and sets the stage for more specialised learning.

Year 2 (Level 5)
The second year deepens HR knowledge: students study topics such as Performance Management & Control, People Resourcing & Talent Management, and Employment Law. Alongside this, they develop skills in organisational design and learn how HR contributes strategically to business success.

Year 3 (Level 6)
In the final year, the course shifts to strategic and applied HR thinking. Students tackle Strategic HRM & Organisational Development, Employee Engagement & Employment Relations, and HR Consultancy Project, giving hands-on experience in solving real organisational people challenges. They also build a professional portfolio demonstrating their HR capabilities.
