University of West London History

The University of West London was founded in 1860 with the establishment of the Lady Byron School, which eventually became Ealing College of Higher Education. Thames Valley University, formerly known as the Polytechnic of West London, became a university in 1992. After multiple mergers, acquisitions, and campus relocation over the next 18 years, it was renamed University of West London.

University of West London's different campuses locations

In western Greater London, there are two campus locations: St Mary's Road in Ealing and Paragon House in Brentford. A third location is located in Reading, Berkshire, around 35 miles from the Ealing sites. The £100 million redevelopments of the St Mary's Road, Ealing campus in 2015 included a new social space, library, student's union, gym, and improved facilities. In 2017, an additional £1 million was invested in the Paragon campus in Brentford, as well as the creation of a nursing simulation center to the Reading site.

1. International Ambassador Scholarships at University of West London

The University of West London offers an International Ambassador Scholarship program which awards up to 100 scholarships each year. Not only does the scholarship program provide financial support, but it is a great way to meet peers also in their first year of study. The International Ambassador Scholarship acknowledges and provides funding for outstanding students who would like to act as ambassadors for the University of West London.

Eligibility Criteria/ Scholarship Guidelines

Applicants should be eligible for the below criteria:

• A self-funded overseas full fee-paying paying student (please note: EU candidates don't seem to be eligible).

• A proposal holder for an undergraduate or postgraduate course at UWL. This means, you need to have already applied for a course of study at this University and you need to have already received an official offer from one of our Admissions Officers.

• The International Ambassador Scholarship is going to be awarded on a competitive basis to candidate’s who demonstrate enthusiasm and therefore the ability to be an excellent international student ambassador.
