The International Business BSc at Kent helps you understand global trade, strategy, and cultural differences while building practical skills in management, finance, marketing, and entrepreneurship.

Curriculum Structure

Year 1 – Building Foundations
Your first year introduces you to the core principles of business. You’ll study Financial Accounting for Decision Makers to understand how businesses track and use financial information, Economics for Business to see how markets and organisations behave, and Introduction to Marketing where you’ll explore how brands connect with people. You’ll also look at the Global Business Environment and take Business Skills for a Sustainable Tomorrow, setting you up with strong skills for future study.

Year 2 – Expanding Horizons
In the second year, you begin to think internationally. Modules like International Business Theories and Perspectives help you explore how companies expand globally, while Global Trading Blocs looks at how organisations like the EU or ASEAN shape world trade. You’ll also take Doing Business in Emerging Markets, where case studies reveal opportunities and challenges in fast-growing economies, and Managing Operations Globally to understand supply chains and worldwide business processes.

Optional Year – Industry or Abroad
Between second and final year, you can choose to gain real-world experience either through a professional placement or by studying abroad. Both routes give you valuable international exposure and make your CV stand out.

Year 3 – Strategy and Innovation
Your final year brings everything together with advanced topics like Global Strategic Management, Global Trade and Finance, and Global Business Innovation and Digital Technology. You’ll also have the freedom to pick options in areas such as leadership, cross-cultural management, or entrepreneurship to shape your degree to your career goals.
