Starting with a foundation year, you’ll gain essential knowledge in maths, computing, and problem-solving, before moving on to explore machine learning, natural language processing, and AI-driven technologies.


Curriculum Structure

Year 1: Foundation Year

The foundation year is all about getting you ready for university-level study. You’ll cover the basics of programming, understand how computers and technology work, and develop practical skills that will help you succeed in your studies and beyond. Modules like Foundations of Computer Programming, Foundations of Computer Technology and Mathematics, and Practical and Professional Skills give you a solid start.

Year 2: Core Computer Science and AI Fundamentals

Now the real fun begins. You’ll dive into core AI concepts and programming, while also learning about data security and protecting information. Modules such as Foundations of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Data and Information Security, and Computer Science Programming help you build the technical skills you’ll need in the AI field.

Year 3: Advanced AI and Industry Applications

This year focuses on applying what you’ve learned to real-world challenges. You’ll study advanced AI topics, explore cloud computing, and practice analysing and designing complex systems. Modules like Artificial Intelligence, Service-Centric and Cloud Computing, and Analysis and Design prepare you for professional-level problem solving and project work.

Year 4: Specialisation and Professional Development

In your final year, you’ll put your skills to the test with a major project—a chance to create something meaningful in AI. You’ll also gain professional recognition through the Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Fundamentals program, boosting your employability and industry credibility.
