Curriculum Structure
Year 1
You'll take Fundamentals of C++ Programming, Fundamentals of Computer Architecture, Mathematics for Graphics, and Programming 2D Games, using practical coursework and labs to establish strong coding, math, and game development foundations.
Year 2
This year includes 3D Game Development, Mathematics for Modelling & Rendering, Object Oriented C++ Programming, and Software–Hardware Optimisation Techniques. The focus is on rendering, multithreading, memory optimization, and working with PlayStation 4/5 dev kits.
Year 3 – Optional Placement
A chance to complete a paid placement year in industry—boosting your CV and professional experience—before returning for the final honours year.
Final Year
You’ll work on Advanced Games Console Projects, Advanced Games Console Techniques, Development Project, and can choose from electives like Effective C++, Machine Learning Algorithms & Heuristics, and Virtual & Augmented Reality Applications.
