Our four-year degrees are a one-year extension to our BSc degrees, which allows further specialisation. You can decide if you want to develop your research skills by working alongside our academics and researchers on one of their projects, or you can join our student-led software organisation, Genesys, where you will be able to put your academic skills into context by working on solutions for clients.
Year One and Two: Students build a solid foundation in core computer science concepts, including programming, algorithms, and systems design. Emphasis is placed on developing problem-solving skills and analytical thinking.
Year Three: The focus shifts to a year-long individual dissertation project, allowing students to explore a specific area of interest under the guidance of a faculty member. This project fosters independent research skills and deepens subject matter expertise.
Year Four: Students engage in advanced research projects, often working collaboratively with faculty and peers. Opportunities include participation in Genesys Solutions, a student-led software development organization that works with real clients, providing hands-on experience in agile methodologies and software engineering practices.
