Nottingham Trent University

Program Overview

This distinctive Youth Studies degree provides an in-depth understanding of the nature of youth and the complex relationship between young people and society. You'll explore the services that support young people's learning, personal and social development and career progression, and also gain the knowledge and skills expected of those who work with young people. This degree arises from contemporary debates about social inclusion and from recent and proposed changes in the way that services to young people are organised. The course is focused on key themes including youth culture, youth justice, transition, careers, social policy, and social inclusion. Throughout the course you'll be encouraged to look at the wider cultural context of youth and to explore international comparative studies.
