You will be taught by experienced academics who are leaders in research in areas such as diversity, child development, multilingualism, and education. The course draws from various disciplines, including history, sociology, law, and philosophy, to provide a comprehensive education.

A degree in education can lead to various career paths, such as education policy, management, and research, as well as opportunities in the charity sector and beyond.

During the first year, you will explore historical and contemporary approaches to UK education policy, examine philosophical ideas in relation to education, and learn about psychological approaches to learning and human development across the lifespan.

In the second year, you will learn how to conduct educational research and consider issues related to equality, diversity, inclusion, and social justice. You will also undertake a placement module that provides practical experience within an educational setting. Additionally, there are optional modules focusing on Curriculum Studies, Comparative Education and Rights, or Families, School, and Education.

In the third year, you will conduct an independent research project on a topic of your choice. You will also have the option to choose modules that allow you to specialize in areas such as Special Educational Needs and Disability, Social & Emotional Aspects of Teaching and Learning, Creativity and the Arts in Education, Youth Studies, and The Digital Child.
