Middlesex University was granted the university status in 1992, prior to that it was known as Middlesex Polytechnic which was founded in 1973-74. The university has its main campus in London, UK and branch campuses in Dubai, Malta and Mauritius. The Dubai campus was opened in 2005, the Mauritius campus was opened in 2010 and the Malta campus was opened in 2013.

The Middlesex University, London comprises of six academic schools: School of Arts & Design, School of Business, School of Health &Education, School of Law, School of Media & Performing Arts and School of Science &Technology. It offers more than 300 courses through the above mentioned schools.
