The MA Higher Education course is aimed at education professionals who want to specialize in the study of Higher Education. It is designed to cater to the changing landscape of higher education for individuals who work in public and private institutions that focus on educating adults. This course can be taken part-time or full-time, and starting from the academic year 2023-2024, it will only be offered as a distance learning program.
The course targets professionals who are involved in teaching, supporting learning, and leadership in higher education institutions worldwide that provide education to adults aged 18 or above, including universities, colleges, and vocational providers. It covers various subjects, including literature and policy, to help individuals develop their professional practice and conduct educational research across a wide range of disciplines and roles. The coursework and final dissertation will be based on the individual's professional practice.
After completing 60 credits or 120 credits, students can opt to receive a certificate or a postgraduate diploma in higher education.
The institution acknowledges similar qualifications from recognized foreign institutions, including: A minimum of a second-class honours degree of 2:2 or higher in engineering, science, or computer science. Individuals with other degrees, but relevant work experience, will also be taken into account. To be eligible for enrolment, English language proficiency is required. The most frequently accepted proof of English language skills is an IELTS score of 6.5 (with no less than 6.0 in each component).
