BA in Primary Education with Art

The BA Primary Education with Art (QTS) is a three-year, full-time undergraduate degree designed to train students as primary school teachers with a specialism in art. Curriculum Structure

Year 1: Foundations of Primary Education and Art

In the final year, students focus on advanced teaching practice and independent research. Modules cover advanced art education, curriculum design, and educational research methods. Students complete a significant school placement, taking full responsibility for planning and delivering lessons. They also undertake a dissertation or research project, applying their knowledge to investigate an area of personal interest in depth. This year culminates in readiness for Qualified Teacher Status and equips graduates with the skills needed to excel as primary educators with an art specialism.
