In the final year, students refine their teaching skills and undertake a significant school placement, where they take on greater responsibility in planning and delivering lessons. Modules focus on leadership in education, advanced assessment techniques, and preparing for the transition from student to qualified teacher. The year culminates in the completion of a dissertation or research project, allowing students to investigate an area of interest in depth. Successful completion of all modules and placements leads to the recommendation for QTS.

Students have the option to specialize in one of the following areas:
