Curriculum Structure

First Year
You’ll build a solid engineering foundation with modules including Mathematics for Engineers, Fundamentals of Engineering, Practical Skills for Engineers, and Programming and Control, alongside Thermofluids and Engineering Global Challenge 1—all designed to blend technical understanding with collaborative problem-solving tasks.

Second Year
Expect a deeper dive into core topics like Control Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Systems 1 & 2, Power Systems, Digital and Embedded Systems Design, and Engineering Global Challenge 2—where you’ll explore key systems, circuitry, and controls through applied learning and projects.

Optional Placement or Study Abroad: You may extend your degree to four years by undertaking a placement in industry—gaining practical experience—or to five years by enrolling in the integrated Master’s (MEng) pathway, culminating in advanced postgraduate-level study.

Final Year
In your final year, you'll tackle advanced, forward-looking modules: Smart Grids, Embedded Systems, Machine Learning, and Robotics and Automation, culminating in a substantial Individual Project that showcases your ability to engineer and innovate independently.
