University College LondonThe University College London (UCL) offers a 4-year MEng in Mechanical Engineering with Business Finance through its Department of Mechanical Engineering. Year 1: Students build a strong base in mathematics, physics, and engineering fundamentals, including mechanics, thermodynamics, and materials science. Year 2: The focus shifts to core mechanical engineering subjects, such as fluid dynamics, dynamics and control, design, and manufacturing processes. Students begin to develop skills in financial analysis and business management, allowing them to evaluate the economic impact of engineering projects.
Year 3: Students engage in more advanced engineering modules including energy systems, robotics, and optimization techniques, alongside finance-focused modules such as corporate finance, investment analysis, and project management. Year 4: The final year culminates in an individual capstone project, where students apply their technical knowledge and financial understanding to a real-world engineering problem. Optional modules allow further specialization in areas such as sustainable energy systems, advanced manufacturing, or financial modelling for engineering projects.

The program is accredited by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE), ensuring it meets the high professional standards required for a career in engineering, and also aligns with the UK-SPEC framework for Chartered Engineer status.

IB - A total of 19 points in three higher level subjects including Mathematics and Physics, with no higher level score below 5. Higher Level 7, 6 required in Mathematics and Physics in any order. The programme will accept either 'Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches' or 'Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation' at higher level. Economics preferred as third higher level subject, but not essential.A Level - Mathematics and Physics required. A* must be in one of the required subjects.
