5 Years On Campus Bachelors Program
Mechanical engineering focuses on the innovative and inventive application of scientific principles to influence our environment by creating new materials, technologies, processes, and products.
Mechanical Engineers create and innovate all things that move or possess moving components, including spacecraft and airplanes, racing cars, household appliances such as refrigerators, small motors that spin DVDs in players, robotic machinery control to nanotechnologies, mechanical hearts and prosthetic limbs to exercise equipment, and technologies for exploring and producing oil and gas to wind turbines.
During the initial 4 years of this five-year MEng program, you will complete the BEng Mechanical Engineering curriculum, which encompasses the essential principles and concepts of mathematics, mechanics, materials, and thermodynamics. During your fifth year, you will delve deeper into biomaterials and biomechanics, allowing you to apply your combined skills and knowledge to create, develop, and evaluate healthcare devices aimed at addressing medical and biological challenges.
The MEng Mechanical Engineering with Biomechanics course at the University of Aberdeen provides a thorough experiential learning structure that combines theoretical knowledge with hands-on engineering and biomechanical abilities.
