Learn to programme and construct robotic systems that can interact with the real world on this hands-on course. You’ll discover how robots and Artificial Intelligence (AI) are transforming our lives. And access industry-standard facilities such as our robotics lab with DJI Drones, Turtlebot3 mobile robots and humanoids like Baxter, Nao and Pepper.

You can boost your CV by taking a paid placement year and gaining outstanding tech industry experience as a recognised part of your degree.

Experiential Learning (Research, Projects, Internships etc.)

Students enrolled in this program benefit from a variety of hands-on learning experiences that bridge theoretical concepts with practical application. The curriculum offers opportunities for year-long paid industry placements, allowing students to gain invaluable real-world experience, develop professional networks, and enhance their employability. On-campus, students have access to advanced facilities, including a dedicated robotics lab equipped with humanoid robots such as Baxter, Nao, and Pepper, as well as DJI drones and Turtlebot3 mobile robots. These resources support the development and testing of intelligent robotic systems, fostering technical proficiency. Additionally, the Hull Immersive Visualization Environment (HIVE) provides motion capture environments for drones and facilities for virtual, augmented, and mixed reality projects. The program also encourages participation in international competitions and local events, enabling students to apply their skills in real-world scenarios and collaborate with peers. ​
