University of Greenwich

Program Overview

The English literature component of the degree emphasises literature since 1800, and interprets 'English literature' broadly to include drama and visual narratives as well as fiction and poetry, visual art and theatre. The courses look at the historical, social and cultural contexts in which texts are produced and received. The creative writing component of the programme gives you the opportunity to explore fiction, poetry, performance writing, playwriting, and screenwriting. Assessment consists of portfolios of work produced each term, alongside journals and reflective essays, during which you will reflect on the development of your writing process.
