English Literature is a BA Hons degree offered by the Department of Literature, Language and Theatre. It allows you to specialise in the study of poetry, the novel, film and theatre, while also incorporating courses from a variety of other subject pathways. This programme emphasises the literature of the last two centuries, and English literature is interpreted broadly to include drama and visual narratives as well as fiction and poetry, visual art, film and theatre. The programme looks at the historical, social and cultural contexts in which texts are produced and received.
