Accredited by the Geological Society, this interdisciplinary degree provides the broad training needed to work in roles within the mining, petroleum, civil engineering and environmental sectors. We're ranked 1st in the UK for student satisfaction in Geology and 6th in Physical Geography and Environmental Science (National Student Survey 2017). Teaching has a strong focus on fieldwork and the analysis of geological materials, geological maps and solving geological problems. You will benefit from free core field trips, which make full use of our unique position on the Yorkshire coast. Optional final-year field trips visit locations such as Iceland, Malawi and Morocco.
