With a focus on children and young people aged 8-25 years, this multi-disciplinary degree will provide you with valuable vocational experiences and allows you to explore a diverse range of professional roles alongside your academic study. Compulsory placements across the programme allow you to try out these areas of work. Placements are integral to the programme and embed understanding of the taught content and link to assessments.

A typical offer for Childhood and Youth BA (Hons):

  • CCC at A Level or,
  • MMM at BTEC or,
  • Pass (C and above) at T Level.

In addition to general entry requirements, applicants are normally expected to hold English and Mathematics equivalent to a GCSE grade C/4.

We welcome international applications and applications from students with a range of non-traditional educational or professional qualifications. We will require that you undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and ask that you demonstrate your commitment to working with children and young people, through voluntary work or similar.

Integrated Foundation Year Entry Requirements

Admission to Childhood and Youth BA (Hons) Integrated Foundation Year is normally:

  • DEE at A Level or,
  • MPP at BTEC or,
  • Pass (D or E) at T Level.

However, we would also like to hear from you if you have professional or industry experience instead, a range of other qualifications or self-developed subject knowledge that relates to the programme you wish to study.

English Language Requirements

All International and EU students applying for a course with us must meet the following minimum English language requirements:

IELTS 6.0 (or equivalent) with a minimum of 5.5 in all bands
