4 Years On Campus Bachelors Program
This degree combines analytical, technological and people-management skills — you’ll learn to apply data, modelling, and digital tools to real business problems while also mastering Human Resource Management (HRM) topics like recruitment, training, employee relations and dealing with conflict. It suits students who enjoy working with numbers, technology and business strategy, but also want to understand and lead the human side of organisations.
Curriculum structure
Here’s how the learning unfolds year by year, including example modules:
Year 1
You’ll start with broad business and technology foundations: modules that introduce business tech, analytical thinking, and managerial/operational issues, plus core business modules and the Management Development Programme (MDP), which builds skills like teamwork, communication, decision-making. On the HRM side you get Managing People, where you learn basics of how organisations recruit, select, train, and begin to understand what makes people thrive (or struggle) in work.
Years 2 & 3
These years deepen both specialisms. In the Business Analysis & Technology stream, you’ll study advanced analytical methods such as Business Analytics Using Data Mining, Business Process Integration with ERP, Risk Analysis & Management, with real case studies. For HRM, you go beyond the basics into Advanced Organisational Behaviour, HRM & Employment Relations in Public Services, and Human Resources in the Global Economy, exploring how global trends, public sector challenges, or psychological behaviour in organisations matter. Year 3 also often offers opportunities to study abroad, or engage in live business projects for experience.
Year 4 (Honours Year)
In your final year you’ll undertake a major project, often for a real client, applying both your tech/analytic skills and HR theory. You’ll take high-level modules that reflect current, topical business technology issues and advanced HRM themes: project management, business process integration, risk management, and deeper organisational behaviour, HR strategy in global settings etc. You’ll also do a dissertation or equivalent research work in your area of interest.

The BA (Hons) Business Analysis and Technology and Human Resource Management at the University of Strathclyde is built around hands-on learning and real-world application. From day one, you’ll move beyond theory to tackle business challenges that blend analytical thinking with human understanding. Through projects, simulations, and collaboration with industry partners, you’ll develop both the technical and interpersonal skills that employers look for.
Here’s how Strathclyde ensures your learning experience is practical and industry-focused:
Management Development Programme (MDP):
Running through the first three years, this programme combines teamwork, leadership development, and real business case studies. You’ll collaborate with classmates on live client projects, building the confidence to present findings and lead solutions.
Analytical and Technological Application:
You’ll use data modelling, simulation, risk analysis, and decision-support tools to solve complex business problems. Modules focus on applying these methods in realistic business contexts, preparing you to use analytics in strategic HR and organisational decisions.
Final-Year Consultancy Project:
In your final year, you’ll undertake a major client-based project — often with a local business or organisation. You’ll analyse data, design solutions, and present recommendations, mirroring the kind of consultancy work analysts and HR professionals do in practice.
HRM in Action:

Study Abroad Option:
The programme also offers opportunities to study at a partner university overseas, giving you international exposure to HR and business analytics practices.
Collaborative Learning and Team Projects:
