Established in 1796 as Andersonian Institute, the University of Strathclyde is a Scottish public research university located in Glasgow, United Kingdom. It is the second oldest university in Scotland. The university received its royal charter in 1964 as the UK’s first technical university.
The university comprises of four faculties: Faculty of Engineering; Faculty of Humanities & Social Science; Faculty of Science and Faculty of Business. Each faculty is sub divided into several departments which deal with specific academic and research areas.
University of Strathclyde has a total student population of more than 21,400 of which over 14,900 are enrolled in the undergraduate programs. The student to faculty ratio at the university is 18:1.
Strathclyde has a reputation for innovative, flexible learning which is relevant to students and employers. Its students have the opportunity to spend up to 1 year of their degree studying at partner university in Europe, North America, Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Singapore or Japan.
The university has partnered with Study Group to provide Undergraduate Foundation Program, International Year One BBA and Pre-Masters Program. The undergraduate foundation program is a pathway to the second year of the undergraduate degree at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences or at the Faculty of Engineering and Sciences. On the completion of the International Year One BBA Program and achieving the required grades, the student can progress into the second year of the three year BBA degree at the Strathclyde Business School. The Pre-Masters Programs offers a pathway to the students to enter the postgraduate degree at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Starthclyde Business School, Faculty of Engineering or Faculty of Sciences.
