Program Overview

Sheffield Hallam University offers the BSc (Honours) International Tourism and Hospitality Business Management course, which prepares students for working in demanding careers in the global tourism and hospitality business. The course combines the theoretical with practice, which allows students to understand the complex, fast-paced international travel, event, hotel, and hospitality enterprise world.

The course structure is focused on building up knowledge cumulatively:

  • Year 1: Students learn the basics of business management, tourism, and hospitality. Modules include key themes like marketing, customer experience, world tourism trends, and operational management. The year establishes a strong academic and professional foundation.

  • Year 3 (Final Year): The third year is dedicated to research, strategy, and international methods. Students pursue an independent research project or dissertation, in addition to studying higher topics such as international hospitality operations, strategic destination management, and innovation in international tourism. The year makes the graduates self-assured, industry-prepared, and capable of leading in an international environment.
