This interdisciplinary degree offers a broad foundation in biomedical science, covering areas such as anatomy, cell biology, developmental biology, genetics, immunology, infection, neuroscience, pharmacology, physiology, and psychology. Curriculum Structure

Year 1
In the first year, you'll take seven compulsory modules that provide a comprehensive grounding across various scientific disciplines. These modules are designed to help you identify areas of particular interest and build a solid foundation for more specialized study in subsequent years.

Year 2
In the second year, you have the option to either remain on the general BSc Biomedical Sciences track or transfer to one of five specialist streams:

  • Organs and Systems
  • Control Systems
  • Developmental Biology
  • Drug Mechanisms
  • Cells and Molecules

Each stream consists of four compulsory modules and three or four optional modules, allowing you to tailor your studies to your interests.

Year 3
The final year focuses on independent research and specialized study. You can choose between a laboratory-based research project (45 credits) or a literature-based research project (30 credits). Additionally, you'll select optional modules to total either 75 or 90 credits, depending on your chosen project.
