Dental hygienists/therapists play an increasingly important role in the delivery of primary care dentistry. The structure of this course is exciting and innovative in that it is fully integrated with the BDS Dentistry course. Both dental hygiene/dental therapy students and BDS students will learn their clinical and professional skills together and will take the same modules for 60% of the course. The majority of the first year of the course will be carried out in the School of Dentistry, Allen Building, Preston campus and in Years 2 and 3 the students will gain clinical experience with the BDS students at one of the four Dental Education Centres (DECs).
UCAS: ABB including Biology, Dental Nurse qualification accepted in lieu of one grade B at A2 but not to replace Biology, 62% from all boards in Higher Secondary, IELTS score of 6.0 (with no component score lower than 5.5), DBS check required.
