University of Central Lancashire History

University of Central Lancashire also known as UCLan is a British higher education establishment located in the city of Preston, Lancashire. The university was established in 1828 as The Institution For The Diffusion Of Useful Knowledge and was subsequently renamed Harris Art College, Preston Polytechnic, and Lancashire Polytechnic and finally adopting its present name in 1992. It currently enrols over 23000 graduate and undergraduate students.
