BMidwif Midwifery

• Online resource Clinicalskills.net: You’ll also access more than 200 peer-reviewed clinical skills procedures via the online platform “Clinicalskills.net” to reinforce your practical learning outside lab time. 

• Extensive NHS clinical practice placements: You’ll train in a variety of settings such as antenatal clinics, midwifery-led birth centres, obstetric-led delivery suites and community midwifery, working alongside qualified midwives as part of the team. 

• Inter-professional and block-based learning: Years 2 and 3 follow a block structure (weeks of theory alternated with weeks of full-time practice) which immerses you into the clinical team environment and mirrors professional shifts. 

• Learning environment support: You’ll also benefit from the University’s libraries (such as the Alan Gilbert Learning Commons), 24/7 learning spaces and group study zones to back your practical-study balance.
