Curriculum Structure
Year 1
Your first year lays the foundations of mental health nursing. Modules like Fundamentals of Nursing Practice, Sciences for Nursing Practice, and Collaboration for Individual and Community Wellbeing introduce you to human biology, professional skills, and how to work effectively with individuals and communities in mental health settings.
Year 2
In your second year, you’ll begin to tackle more complex scenarios. Through modules such as Assessing and Addressing Complexity in Practice, Developing Nursing Practice, and Applied Sciences for Nursing Practice, you’ll learn to care for people with acute, long-term, or complex mental health needs and work as part of a multi-professional team.
Year 3
The final year prepares you to step confidently into professional practice. Modules like Complexity & Leadership in Professional Practice, Consolidating Sciences for Nursing Practice, and Transition to Registration in Mental Health Nursing Practice help you lead care, make key decisions, reflect on practice, and prepare for registration as a qualified mental health nurse.
