Program Overview

Curriculum Structure

Year 1 — Foundations of Adult Nursing
Your first year builds the core knowledge and skills every nurse needs. You’ll study Health and Nursing 1 & 2 to understand nursing principles and professional values, Anatomy and Physiology for Nursing to learn how the adult body functions, and Academic Skills and Digital Capability for Nursing in Healthcare to strengthen study and technology skills. Professional Practice 1 placements let you start applying what you’ve learned in real clinical settings.

Year 2 — Developing Complex Care Skills
In Year 2, you’ll deepen your clinical expertise and tackle more complex care situations. Modules like Caring for People with Long Term and Complex Care Needs and Caring for People with Acute and Short Term Needs prepare you to manage patients with a range of conditions. Pharmacology and Medicines Management builds your understanding of medications, while Research Methods and Evidence Based Practice helps you use research to inform clinical decisions. Professional Practice 2 placements expand your hands-on experience further.

Year 3 — Transition to Professional Practice
Your final year focuses on preparing you for life as a confident, registered nurse. Transitions to Professional Nursing Practice 1 & 2 help you consolidate your knowledge and meet professional standards, while Developing Nursing Practice gives you the opportunity to lead a project that improves patient care. Professional Practice 3 placements allow you to put all your skills into practice in advanced clinical settings.
