Nursing with Registered Nurse (Adult) - Practice Based Pathway

3 Years On Campus Bachelors Program

University of Central Lancashire

Program Overview

This three-year practice-based route into adult nursing lets you learn both in the classroom and in real healthcare settings from day one. It’s perfect if you’re ready to become a registered adult nurse and want to gain hands-on experience in your local NHS trust while earning your degree.

Curriculum Structure:

Year 1:
Your first year lays the foundations in anatomy, physiology, professional nursing values, and basic clinical skills. You’ll spend part of your week in your home NHS trust placement, giving you early exposure to patient care and helping you start building confidence in real-world settings.

Year 2:
Year two focuses on more advanced care and decision-making, covering modules like safe medication practice, health policy, and developing your professional role. Your placement hours increase, allowing you to work closely with qualified nurses and apply theory directly to patient care.

Year 3:

Modules guide you in evaluating care across a variety of adult health settings, ensuring you graduate ready to register as a fully qualified nurse.
