This degree is designed to help you become a confident, compassionate mental health nurse, equipped to care for people across a variety of mental health settings. Curriculum Structure:

Year 1: You’ll start by exploring what it means to be an accountable professional, with modules like Being an Accountable Professional in the Four Fields of Nursing and Assessing Needs and Planning Care. This year focuses on developing your understanding of nursing fundamentals, communication skills, anatomy, and the values that underpin safe, effective care.
Year 2: You’ll build on your first-year knowledge with modules such as Future Nurse and Practice Assessment Part 1 (Mental Health). This year is all about applying theory in real-world scenarios, developing your clinical judgment, and gaining your first placement experiences.
Year 3: In your final year, you’ll prepare for full professional practice, tackling more complex mental health conditions. Modules consolidate your learning and help you transition into an autonomous registered nurse, refining your skills, leadership, and confidence for your first nursing role.
