The University of Derby, also known as Derby College of Art and Technology, is a public university situated in Derby, England. University of Derby was established in 1851 and gained a university status in 1992. Its motto is ‘Experience is the Best Teacher.’ The university has a student count of 34000 as of 2019/2020.

University of Derby History

University of Derby has been building new facilities over the years since it was constituted. The first building to be added was called the Derby Diocesan Institution for the Training of Schoolmistresses. Derby School of Art was added in 1853, which in 1870 was transformed into Derby Central School of Art, and the Derby Central School of Science. Every decade some additions were made to the University of Derby.
