Program Overview

You will learn how to promote the health and wellbeing of people with learning disabilities, who often face a variety of barriers when trying to have their needs addressed. You will ensure that their rights are valued and they are supported as equal citizens. To do this, you will need to possess a range of specialist knowledge and skills, including strong and effective leadership skills to ensure people with learning disabilities receive high-quality care. This will include being able to work effectively and in partnership with the person with a learning disability, as well as with their family/carers and other health and social care professionals.
