Lincoln’s MPharm Pharmacy is a fully accredited four-year degree that blends pharmaceutical science with hands-on clinical training across the patient life cycle. It’s ideal for students who want to become confident, patient-facing pharmacists through a curriculum that integrates science, therapeutics, and professional practice from day one.
Curriculum structure
Year 1
You’ll begin with Pharmacy 101 and Pharmacy 102, exploring the pharmacist’s role in the NHS and learning how medicines and patients work. Clinical conditions such as childhood allergy and infections are introduced through integrated modules combining science, therapeutics, and practice skills — all supported by patient-based learning.
Year 2
You’ll build on your foundation with modules focused on young adult health, including asthma, critical care, and mental health. The curriculum deepens your understanding of pharmaceutical care through case-based learning and placements in community and hospital settings.
Year 3
This year focuses on middle-age conditions such as gastrointestinal disease, cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and depression. You’ll also complete a research project, developing your own question and presenting findings through a poster, paper, and commentary.
Year 4
You’ll study older-age conditions like COPD, osteoporosis, dementia, and Parkinson’s disease, while integrating everything you’ve learned into complex patient care. A final extended elective placement and the opportunity to specialise in a topic of interest prepare you for the GPhC Foundation Training Year.
