Blending health and science, patient care and technological knowhow, diagnostic radiography is a dynamic, hands-on profession at the heart of modern healthcare. Approved by the Society and College of Radiographers (SoR) and Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), our course prepares you to use a range of different imaging techniques and technology.As well as commonly used projectional radiography using digital imaging (general x-rays), fluoroscopy (continuous x-ray image), ultrasound, computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), you will learn about specialist techniques like positron emission tomography (PET), radionuclide imaging (RNI) and mammography. You'll learn to produce and analyse high quality clinical images to help detect, screen for and monitor the response of disease and trauma.You'll be taught by staff who are themselves HCPC registered radiographers with decades of combined experience across a range of specialties, studying in a hospital which provides comprehensive diagnostic and interventional radiological services, as well as 24/7 emergency services as part of the Hospital Trauma Centre.
