Practical Learning at NTU

We are proud to be the only UK university with an on-campus teaching law firm—NLS Legal. This award-winning firm allows students to take on real responsibilities, from handling client enquiries and ensuring compliance to conducting legal research, drafting documents, and even representing clients in tribunal cases.

Additionally, NTU is the only UK university to host Support Through Court's National Services, including the National Helpline and National Online Service. This unique partnership provides our students with unmatched opportunities to gain hands-on legal experience while making a real difference in people’s lives.

1. NLS Legal – On-Campus Teaching Law Firm
NTU houses NLS Legal, the only on-campus teaching law firm among UK universities. 2. Support Through Court Partnership
NTU uniquely hosts the national helpline and online services for Support Through Court, offering students practical experience in assisting individuals who cannot afford legal representation. Nottingham Trent University

3. Mooting and Mock Courtrooms

4. Work Placements and Sandwich Year

  • Solicitor: Graduates can pursue the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE) to qualify as solicitors. Nottingham Trent's offers SQE-aligned support and practical legal training.
